Meditate With Me

I’m a firm believer in practicing what I preach, and most people who know me know that I really do try to live the way I teach others to. However, as mindful as I live my life, I still haven’t kept up my own meditation practice.  

I’ve developed many healthy habits—exercise, eating well (most of the time), being true to myself and others, and more—but having a regular meditation practice is one that I haven’t quite mastered. A few years ago, in an effort to keep myself accountable, I created a group with other mindfulness teachers. We’d each meditate on our own and then text each other afterward. Our texts read, “Sat 5 minutes,” “Sat 15 minutes,” etc. It worked for a while, until it didn’t, and the group fell apart. 

The other day one of my friends from that group texted me “Sat 20”—I loved it! I became inspired to start my own practice again. So, this morning I got up early, applied my honey face mask and meditated for 10 minutes. It was in that practice that I decided to create an online, interactive meditation class—a short, 20-minute learning and doing session!

Meditation is amazing for you. It increases your immunity, positivity, social connection, emotional intelligence, focus and memory. It decreases inflammation, pain, depression, anxiety, stress, and more.
