Acknowledge Negative Emotions

Disappointment is inevitable. The key is not to linger there too long.

It is natural to feel angry, sad, upset, and sorry at times. If we don’t allow ourselves to feel our emotions, they will most definitely creep up on us when we least expect it.

Experience your emotions. Don’t sweep them under the rug. Give them a label – I am feeling angry, sad or hurt. Once you’ve allowed yourself to “feel”, break the cadence by shifting your energy – go for a walk; accomplish something on your to do list; organize a drawer; call a friend.

Take care of yourself and know that negative feelings will pass. You will have more control over your emotions instead of them controlling you!
