Relive Your Most Positive Moments

Research shows that just thinking about and remembering happy events can increase the levels of serotonin in our bloodstream. Serotonin in the brain regulates anxiety, mood and happiness. Unfortunately, we are chemically wired to relive our sad or upsetting times over and over again, but consciously making an effort to think about happy past experiences makes us feel good!

I will often tell clients to create an imaginary box in their mind. Actually visualize what the box will look like – colors, etc. and put your happy memories in there. You can even write them down on paper or in the notes section of your phone.

Whenever you want a little dose of serotonin – open up the imaginary box and whip out a happy memory. They are yours for the keeping! Happy Remembering!!!
