Accept Compliments Graciously

Treat a compliment as a verbal gift.

Acknowledge it by saying “Thank you!”

Do you remember the last time someone paid you a compliment? Did you deflect the compliment and put yourself down in some way?

If you didn’t say “Thank you,” it’s time to start saying it now!

If someone thinks enough about your work, your home, your hair or even your shoes to say something nice, don’t negate what they said.

How would you feel if you received a negative response to a gift you gave?

When you deny a compliment, it is an insult to the giver. Sincere thankfulness won’t give off the appearance of pride or vanity. Instead, it shows that you acknowledge a person’s recognition and appreciation.

Remember to smile and say “Thank you.”
