Hug It Out

Hug someone today! Hugging is a powerful tool not only capable of changing the way you feel, but also helping the person that is fortunate enough to receive your hug.

Hugging is processed by the reward center in the central nervous system and it can have a huge impact on making us feel happiness and joy.

Have you heard of oxytocin? It’s sometimes referred to as the “hug hormone” or “love hormone.” It’s the hormone secreted by the pituitary gland when we hug or touch someone.

This hormone can do wonders! The benefits include:

  • decreased levels of stress
  • lower blood pressure
  • reduced cravings for drugs or alcohol
  • healing effect on inflammation and wounds

Give more hugs and focus on how good they make you feel both physically and emotionally!
