Connect With Your Body

How often do we run, lift weights, zip through a workout class or do something physical without even thinking about it? It’s easy to go through the motions on auto-pilot. When we do this, we miss out on many of the health benefits that are associated with being mindful during exercise or physical activity.

When we pay closer attention to our body's motion, we make an important connection. Feel your muscles working. Concentrate on your body movements and your breathing. Think about the actual activity you are doing and focus on how it feels in your body. It will help you relieve stress, increase muscle strength and avoid injury.

This week when you walk, exercise or do any form of physical activity, do it with greater awareness. Make it a point to be present in what you are doing and connect with your body!
